This years project is in Rio the Janeiro where many children are still living in the streets under gruesome circumstances. Local organisation AMAR provides day-care and education for as many children as they can. Unfortunately this is not enough. At night the children are still sleeping under bridges while snorting glue to forget their misery.
They are not save in the streets at night, not even for the police. That is why a night-care facility is so important for these children. It provides the step between living on the streets or going home to their families or foster-care. It will give them the chance of a decent future. You can find more information about AMAR here.
